The eyes, ears and memories of Ivy Hawn
Becoming a member of the yearbook staff is quite a commitment and we're sure glad to have you. This years staff will be co-taught by Ms. Serrano and myself. Having two dedicated teachers to work along side a small group of select students will help to ensure things run smoothly and that the yearbook is completed as one cohesive work. The yearbook staff is responsible for the creation of the yearbook in its entirety. Students will have access to and learn to use DSLR cameras in order to capture all of the amazing images that go into creating a one of a kind yearbook. They will learn basic design principles when laying out page styles and different marketing techniques to advertise this years book to their peers. The most important job of a yearbook staff member however is helping to make sure that every student at Ivy Hawn is represented and able to feel like they too are apart of the book and our schools history.
There are so many things that go into creating an entire book, it can sometimes be easy to miss something. Deadlines are crucial, if we miss a deadline with the publishing company there will be no book! Because of this there will be no late or make-up work allowed in this specific class. Students will be required to attend after school activities and performances in order to collect the photos, interviews and reviews as a part of their assigned yearbook pages.
